This spring has been a busy season for us as a family and a nation.
First, we had a brief war in which we removed the leadership of Iraq and began replacing it with a more pro-Western government. In the picture below, a British soldier wears his lucky helmet - it was hit by four AK-47 rounds while he was wearing it. Obviously he survived.

While the war was waging, life continued for us. Caroline had another season with the Cary Ballet Conservatory, and performed wonderfully in the season-ending recital.

She also played another season of soccer with the Eagles. Daddy was involved as well - he was her coach.

We also discovered that several of the restaurants in the area are now providing balloon and face-painting services for kids.

Chandler and Caroline shared a "special" moment during Chandler's school field day.

Here is a shot of Chandler running the 50 yard dash. He finished the day with three ribbons, one each of red, white, and blue.

Chandler also played baseball with one of the local teams. This year he is playing on the Central Carolina Bank team. Chandler is doing great, and has contributed to each of his teams wins. Here is a shot of him making another hit.

Chandler and Dad also went to camp with the local YMCA Indian Guides tribe named Spirited Knights. Below is a picture of him digging through a prehistoric sand deposit. While doing so he found 75 shark teeth of both extinct and modern sharks. I also brought him a Whoopie Cushion, which was a big hit with the tribe members.

Below is a group shot of the entire tribe.

Chandler also played basketball on a church league. His team did pretty well, and everyone on the teams improved dramatically during the season.

And finally, we saw this feral male peacock on the side of the road near our house. That sums up our spring, busy and full of surprises.
