Season’s Greetings from the Cearley Family 2003

Merry Christmas! What
a wild ride this year has been!
May God bless
your family this Holiday Season.
We pray for good
health and lots of love and joy for you all.
We pray that the
remembrance of Jesus’ Birth overshadows all else this season and that His
Spirit will be at work in your lives everyday of the coming New Year.

Chandler
is 8 ½ and in 2nd Grade now and on the A-B Honor Roll (only 1 B!) at
Cary Christian which is quite an accomplishment. Math, Science, and History are his favorite subjects. (Carlene has been a substitute teacher in
his class this year! Having her work at
school has its pluses and minuses!) In
addition to being a great student, he has become a great athlete. He is consistently the high-scorer on his
basketball team this winter! He also
still enjoys Baseball and Indian Guides with Greg. He is still a leader among his friends and very popular with both
boys and girls! We are very proud of
the young man he is becoming!

Caroline
is 5 ¾ and started Kindergarten this year at Cary Christian. She is doing great! She loves school and is reading everything
she can! Carlene is a part-time
Assistant in her class which they both love.
She is still dancing and is becoming quite a good ballerina! She is also one of the stars on her soccer
team (Greg is the coach!). In one game,
she even scored 4 goals, against boys!
She also started Indian Princesses this year with Greg. Carlene has been giving her piano lessons,
and she sat down last week and played Beethoven’s Ode to Joy
perfectly, the first time, with no instruction! She adds joy to our home everyday!
Once
again, our family did a lot of traveling this year in our RV. We traveled to Florida twice (Sea World,
Kennedy Space Center, and, of course, Disney World). We spent a wonderful week this summer at Emerald Isle over
Chandler’s 4th of July Birthday and learned a lot about Blackbeard
the Pirate! We even camped at Virginia
Beach over Thanksgiving! Greg pulled the camper every mile!

Greg
has been very busy with work and family this year. He is still the manager for Global E-Business for
GlaxoSmithKline. They wouldn’t know
what to do without him, and he loves being able to work from home most of the
time. The family really appreciates
having him around so much! He was AWANA
leader at our church for the 1st graders last spring; he is the
soccer coach for the Capital Area Soccer League Co-ed U-6 team; and he is in
Indian Guides with Chandler and Indian Princesses with Caroline! He is our Mr. Fix-it. The children say, “Daddy can fix
anything!” He keeps a good supply of
Super Glue on hand! He has also put his
mechanical skills to use in many ways this year with the house, the RV, the
car, and the Expedition. In addition to
all of that, he has been Carlene’s number one supporter for her endeavors this
year! What a guy!!!

Carlene
has had a very exciting and busy year.
Not only did she go to work at Cary Christian School as a part-time
Kindergarten Assistant, but she started an acting career at the age of 35! She decided to explore a childhood dream
and, in January, began taking acting classes at Raleigh Little Theater. She went on her first film audition in April
and actually got the role of Detective in the independent film “Lost”! She got her headshots done and put a resume
together. In July, she was cast in her
second short independent film “Grover’s Ride” as the church organist and
preacher’s wife. The film was set in
the 1920’s, and she played an antique pump organ (which she grew up playing at
her great-aunt’s house!). In addition
to the role, she provided the score for the movie! It was SO much fun! She
also did a commercial for Lowe’s Home Improvement Warehouse for Kraft-Maid
Cabinetry to be shown in their stores.
In August she signed with a great agent in Greensboro and has been
traveling to Charlotte and Greensboro for auditions! Being a hands-on wife and mother is still her number one
job. The acting is icing on the
cake! She couldn’t do any of this if it
weren’t for the support of Greg, Chandler, and Caroline. God is good!!
As
far as pets go, we had a very sad loss in May when our 9-yr-old Cocker
Spaniel Roxy died very suddenly of a ruptured tumor. We still miss her. We
still have her mother Chelsea who is very old and deaf. She gets lots of love. In addition, we have 5 fish, which have
lived since spring (a record for fish in our house!). Chandler has also acquired 2 hermit crabs, Tuff Stuff and
Biscuit. He is a very good pet owner.
Our
lives are full and wonderful. We have
lots of great friends and family and have been blessed beyond our dreams. We pray for God’s blessings on your lives
this Season.
