Merry Christmas from The Cearleys

2001 has been a tough year for our nation.

Yet in this Season we find cause for celebration.

We celebrate the birth of our Lord.

And pray that our nation would be in accord.

The Cearley Family this year has been blessed

With good health, lots of love, and true happiness:

Chandler is six

And gets his kicks

Through Karate and through Soccer.

He loves Baseball, especially the Yankees

(so Braves fans need to take out your hankies).

He’s reading and writing and telling time.

The joys of Kindergarten are simply sublime.

We’re very proud and say so out loud.

Caroline is three and growing.

Her talent for dancing she is showing.

She loves her dolls

And going to malls.

She’s a princess in every way.

The “surprising” things that she says and the things that she does

Light up our lives every day.

Carlene has taken up Jazzercise.

She’s found that move to be very wise

In order to keep up with the family

And still maintain her sanity.

This year she taught a Bible Study and volunteered a lot;

She stenciled the house and learned to make jewelry

And even more that we forgot.

But her primary role is still that of Homemaker, Mommy, and Wife,

She says that she is living the best time of her life.

Greg is thankful for a promotion in these uncertain days.

He realizes God has blessed him in so many ways.

He has a new Expedition in which to pile many friends.

(They’ll need to hold on as he goes ‘round the bends!)

This year he did paint some scenes that are quaint to put in his home-office.

He tries to do work,

But the kids they do lurk,

Because they love being with Dad.

He doesn’t mind.

He takes time to play.

It really does make them ALL glad.

Our Family went to the zoo and the mountains and spent lots of time at the beach.

And then we took a trip to D.C. where the children we could teach.

Greg and Carlene took a trip to Indy where they intently watched the race.

Then they spent time with family and drove leisurely home before getting back into pace.

As we look back upon our year we say our prayers of gratitude,

For family and friends

And straight roads and bends.

It’s all in His Plan and our Attitude.

Have a joyous holiday and a great year in 2002!
